Milena grew up at the lake of Zurich and persued her BSc in Biomedicine at the University of Zurich where she then continued with her MSc in Neurosciences in the lab of Stephan Neuhauss studying the role of the neuropeptide galanin in controlling brain excitability. Captivated by the study of the central nervous system, she will investigate the role of brain energy metabolism in brain activity and epilepsy during her PhD.
Outside the lab, Milena enjoys running, hiking, board games and cooking.
