Xin grew up in China and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Melbourne. She later moved to Switzerland to pursue a Master's degree in Biochemistry at the ETH Zurich. For her Master's thesis, she studied organelles removal during erythroblast differentiation using CRISPR screening. Xin joined the laboratory of Prof. Alex Hajnal in December 2024, where her research will focus on characterizing the NOTCH signaling pathway during C. elegans vulval development.
Outside the lab, Xin enjoys playing badminton, baking, and relaxing with her cat.
