Anna is a Lecturer for Ethics and Philosophy of Biology and an independent group leader at the Department of Molecular Life Sciences at the University of Zurich (UZH). Her main research interests are in topics at the interface between biology and philosophy due to her interdisciplinary academic background. She first studied molecular biology at the UZH with a PhD at the institute of Biochemistry at the ETH Zurich. She then started to work in interdisciplinary postdoc projects at the institute of biomedical ethics at the UZH and completed an additional study in philosophy at the UZH. After a six months research stay at the University of Manchester, and various projects at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics of the UZH she moved to the philosophy department at the UZH. There, she developed her current approaches in environmental ethics and started her research group working on the project “People’s Place in Nature” supported by the NOMIS foundation and the University Research Priority Programme Global Change and Biodiversity (URPP GCB). During all this time she taught various courses in research ethics, environmental ethics and normative ethics for Bachelor, Master and PhD students in biology and philosophy. In February 2023 she took up her position as a lecturer in Ethics and Philosophy of Biology at the UZH.
