Ming Yang
Ming was born in China and obtained both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the College of Life Sciences at Sichuan Agriculture University. While pursuing his MSc research in Professor Guixian Bu's lab, he utilized primary cultured chicken ovary follicular granulosa cells as a model, for the first time deciphered a developmental-stage dependent mechanism behind how stress doses of glucocorticoids impeded animal reproduction through a proliferative, apoptotic and steroidogenic manner. In May 2024, he commenced his doctoral studies in Professor Franka Voigt's lab with the support of the China Scholarship Council and SNSF. Currently, he is focus on investigating the underlying principles that modulate IRE1 activity and dynamically regulate the unfolded protein response by using a single-molecule imaging approach.
