Severino grew up in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. During his bachelor studies at the University of Zurich he discovered his passion for neuroscience and neural development. He continued to follow this passion in the Stoeckli lab. His master's thesis  focused on the gene CAPS and its involvment in the development of the nervous system. In his free time, he likes to cook and surf.
