Enno was born in Winsen/Luhe, but lived his whole childhood in a small village in the Lüneburger Heide, Germany.
He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Germany, where he tried to unravel the spatial and temporal expression pattern of D-cyclines in postnatal radial glia-like stem cells of the murine subgranular zone in the lab of Dr. Anja Urbach.
In 2021, he completed his master studies in molecular and cellular neurosciences at the Philipps-University Marburg, Germany. For his master’s thesis, he was eager to determine molecular mechanisms that influence secondary angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis in Prof. Dr. Christian Helker’s lab. Additionally, during his master studies he worked for Dr. Kirstin Hobiger as a student assistant in the lab of Prof. Dr. Dominik Oliver, where he tried to functionally characterize phosphoinositide-specific phosphatases.
He completed a handful of internships mainly in developmental biology, neurosciences, developmental genetics, and molecular biology during his master and bachelor studies.
In April 2021 he started an internship in Prof. Dr. Francesca Peri’s lab at the University of Zurich. Later that year, he joined the Life Science Zurich Graduate School as a PhD student, remaining in the group of Francesca Peri.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, calisthenics and playing board as well as card games in nice company.
