Growth control and signal transduction
We study the mechanisms of cell communication that control the growth and differentiation of multicellular organisms. Over the past several years, we have discovered a number of intracellular signaling pathways that are highly conserved between invertebrates and vertebrates. Aberrant regulation of these pathways in humans is associated with diseases such as cancer and diabetes. In our current research we use genetics, molecular biology and cell biology to address three specific questions: |
