I was born in Chandannagar, India. After graduating from high school in 2012, I was enrolled in a Masters Program in Biotechnology (Integrated) in VIT University, India until 2017. I have performed my master thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Shilpee Dutt, ACTREC, Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, India, where I worked towards understanding the role of histone modifiers in acquiring drug resistance in leukemia by employing DNA repair. In order to further pursue my interest in basic biology, I joined the lab of Prof. Dr. Christian F. Lehner, DMLS, University of Zurich in 2018. My PhD research involves understanding centromere assembly in Drosophila melanogaster.
Apart from my PhD, I am interested in travelling and exploring new cultures. In addition, I am an automobile and airplane enthusiast. Often, I like to do airplane spotting.
