Biography

Thomas comes from Ticino, Switzerland. In 2024, he completed his MSc in Cellular Biochemistry at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. During his master's thesis at the Schratt lab, he developed a first interest in the connection between neuronal circuitry and primary cilia, which led to his current project in the Bachmann group. In fact, he is now investigating the role of primary cilia in the formation and function of neuronal circuits in hiPSC-derived neurons. His project is embedded in the PhD Program in Neuroscience (ZNZ), and has the overarching goal to better understand the molecular mechanisms affecting circuits formation in the context of multi-sensory processing.

In his freetime, Thomas enjoys cooking warm meals for friends and family, figuring out new bouldering routes at the gym and listening to music while baking in the sun.
