Judith Schaart
Office Y13-K-24
Judith received her bachelor in Molecular Life Sciences and master in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease from Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands). During her master she performed research internships in the department of Biochemistry (Radboud University Nijmegen) and the department of Biophysics and Biochemistry (Stockholm University). After graduating, she started her PhD at Radboud University/Radboud University Medical Center in the department of Medical Biosciences. During her PhD, Judith developed advanced cell culture models for early bone development and studied the ongoing developmental processes in these cell cultures using advanced 3D microscopy (fluorescence microscopy and volume electron microscopy). In 2024 she received her PhD degree, after which she moved to Zurich to join the Bachmann-Gagescu research group. Here, she will be involved in the iPSC and organoid research, aiming to further elucidate molecular mechanisms involved in the development of renal ciliopathies.
