Beth comes from Carmarthenshire, Wales. She completed her MSci degree in Cell Biology at University College London (UCL) in 2022. Right after, she started working as a UKDRI Gene Therapy Research Assistant at Kings College London (KCL) as part of the Shaw Lab for Dementia and ALS-related research. Currently, Beth is a PhD student in the Bachmann group as part of the Molecular Life Sciences PhD program at the University of Zurich. She is very interested in the molecular mechanisms driving disease states. Using an iPSC-based platform, she is currently investigating the tissue specificity of primary cilia and its relation to a group of Mendelian disorders termed ciliopathies.
In her free time, Beth enjoys going to the theatre, painting and travelling.
