Starting 1985 at the UZH as lab technician in the Biochemistry Department, he then took a few years off in the private sector and returned to the Molecular Biology Department in 1996, he later took yet another jump – now as an IT administrator – at the Center of Dental Medicine where he stayed for more than 20 years. In 2022, Thomas re-joined the Department of Molecular Life Sciences (DMLS) as an IT specialist and coordinator.

In his spare time, he enjoys sport activities, cultural events, family life, and cooking.
